Marking its fourth year this year, Mosaic Music Festival has already distinguished itself with its exciting line-ups of internationally acclaimed as well as up and coming acts. Harry Connick Jr who headlines the festival this year, while previous participating artistes included luminaries such as the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Chick Corea, Rickie Lee Jones, Take 6, Femi Kuti, Miriam Makeba, Pat Metheny, Afro Cuban All Stars, Jason Mraz, the Soweto Gospel Choir, the late jazz great Shirley Horn, James Moody and the London Gospel Choir.

Singapore enjoys a vibrant performing arts scene, packed with an exciting annual calendar of arts and cultural activities, including concerts (2008 will see Santana, The Police and Harry Connick Jr holding concerts in Singapore), theatrical productions, as well as established festivals and events, such as the Mosaic Music Festival and the Singapore Arts Festival.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives (OMAI) has a robust and exciting lineup of spoken word and hip-hop events planned for the spring and summer, including talented and passionate teens just finding their voices, hip-hop theater from UW-Madison students and a galaxy of celebrated artists, performers and educators in the emerging hip-hop arts field.

All the activities strengthen UW-Madison’s position as a leader in the institutionalization of hip hop in higher education.
